Montse Cortazar is the visionary force behind Montse Cortazar Literary Agency, which she founded in 2011 in Bengaluru, India. With a mission to empower authors and publishers across borders, she has built one of the most dynamic international literary agencies in the industry representing clients from over 40 countries and selling rights in more than 44 languages.

Montse brings over two decades of global publishing experience, having worked extensively in Spain, the UK, and India. Her career spans every facet of the publishing business: from editorial development and rights management to literary scouting and strategic consulting.

Prior to launching her agency, she served as Rights Manager at Osho International in London, where she oversaw rights sales in 58 languages, honing her expertise in global licensing and cross-cultural publishing dynamics.

Her early career at Alfaomega in Madrid (Spain) laid the foundation for her deep understanding of editorial operations and business strategy. With a Masters in Communication from Complutense University of Madrid, Montse combines scholarly rigor with market-savvy intuition.
